Pre-inspecting the lot is a lot like using common sense!
One of the pitfalls of falling in love with a floor plan and a lot is that the two of these may not necessarily be compatible! It can be likened to a plan to construct a large two-story tree house, and choosing a two-year old sapling or a rose bush to build it in. Pre-inspection of the lot helps alleviate much grief when it is done at the same time as choosing and designing the floor plan, the design and build way!
Therefore, one of the first orders of common sense business we conduct for our client is to Walk The Lot. In this video, Mike Etowski invites you to come along for one of these walks, and explains what he looks at and why!

Before a floor can be laid down in a new home that is being built, a framework is created for the floor system. Here at Showcase Construction, our licensed surveyor measures the elevation of the ground so the foundation can be laid level. As our licensed general contractor and home building expert, Mike Etowski, gives us a tour of the floor system of this new home being built in Carolina Lakes community we have been getting a closer look at how the elevation influences the floor system.
In the next installment of our three-part series, “The Framing of the Floor System”, Mike will give us an even closer look at the materials and workmanship that has gone into this floor system’s framework.
This is a tour of one of Showcase’s Design & Build new customized homes being built in the beautiful golf course community of Carolina Lakes in Pinehurst, North Carolina. It begins with a three part series showing framing of the floor system. Hosted by our very own Mike Etowski, who captures the experience of living in Carolina Lakes when two white-tail deer pay the construction site a visit!
